There is already enough noise and drama in our lives. When that jarring condition is intensified by miscommunication, conflict arises.
I dislike unnecessary conflict and detest being misunderstood. So, I write in words that are arranged in such a way that the readers know immediately my intentions.
I communicate to be understood, not to impress. I give more importance to the readers rather than my ego.
My writing style is described by many as direct and straightforward. There is no room for the readers to misinterpret what I have written.
The way I align words may not sit well with some people, but its the kind of writing style that reflects my personality.
To me, being blunt and transparent is the most effective way to communicate ideas, thoughts, knowledge, information and feelings. At least, readers know my perspective on issues that matter even if they disagree with me.

PLAIN AND UNDECORATED
It’s has been said that the most effective writer is one that is able to distill complex concepts into simple, clear language that’s quickly and easily understood by others. This valuable quality helps readers understand even the densest subject matter when it is cut down into uncomplicated pieces.
A recent study suggested that the quality of one’s personal and work lives actually depend on how effectively one communicates orally and in writing.
Whether one is just networking, holding a relationship or closing a big corporate deal, the art of communicating clearly and effectively should not be overlooked. One can even go as far as to say, it is the fundamental differentiator between a life that sucks and one that is pleasant.
No matter what kind of reader one is addressing, communication is a daunting task. But I usually zoom in on the shortest and easiest route to the readers’ brain and heart. This shortcut can be achieved by being bold, frank and forthright about the purpose of a post.
People say they are impressed not by my competence of the English language but my bravery in delivering the hard truth in a way that is clear, humane, diplomatic and refined.
In this article, I aim to convince readers to adopt an honest, clear, no frills kind of approach to writing.
It is true that great writing is hard to learn; but good writing is not.

UNCLUTTERED MIND, EFFECTIVE PROSE
To avoid misunderstandings, psychologists often advise people to “communicate exactly what they mean, as clearly and as accurately as possible.”
To help people along this path, here are 3 helpful tips on effective written communication:
• Clarity – Effective written communication is clear and easy to understand.
• Cause – The reason for writing needs to be clear to both the writer and the reader.
• Conciseness – Good written communication sticks to the point and doesn’t include lots of extraneous information. “No going in circles, nor using vague hyperboles.”
Perfection is not the aim here. Afterall, words are merely instruments that help deliver a message which is far more important.
Practice writing a variety of documents to improve written communication skills. As for me, I have gained a lot of practice in writing press releases, speeches, feature stories, letters, proposals, blogs, websites and infographics.
Still, like everything else of significant value, becoming a great writer takes much more effort. #
